Nichole earned her MFA at the University of Virginia, where she taught
creative writing, including a course on “Unearthing Fiction” at the Albert
and Shirley Small Special Collections Library. Recent work has appeared
in Prairie Schooner, Lit Hub, The Rumpus, and the Los Angeles Review
of Books. She has received fellowships from Hedgebrook and the Community
of Writers.
Nichole has taught courses on book publishing at Writer House
(Charlottesville) and the Backspace Writers' Conference (New York). She
has also worked in public services at the Small Special Collections Library,
as a reader for the Levine Greenberg Rostan Agency, and as a fromagère
on La Ferme des Cascades in Sazos, France.
In a previous life (i.e. as a teenager) she played piano and saxophone. Her most memorable performance was with the world-renowned
Young @ Heart Chorus at the Academy of Music Theatre in Northampton,
Massachusetts. She grew up in Western Mass and lives in California.
